Brilliant Pieces for Kids Spaces
Spaces for our littlest clients and guests are some of our favorite to design. Here are a few of go-to items to add fun, adventure and warmth to your kiddo’s space.
FUN STORAGE
There are always lots of small items in our kids spaces that we want to quickly and easily clean up and organize. From storing stuffed animals to blocks to books to magna-tiles (see below for more about this awesome toy), flexible storage pieces are essential. Some of our most used pieces…
3 Sprouts Hanging Wall Organizers
BabyLetto Spruce Tree Bookshelf
Enormous (seriously!) Round Woven Basket
Enormous (seriously!) Square Woven Basket
FAVORITE EVERGREEN TOYS
We love to stock toys in our rental property kids spaces that will transcend trends and meet the needs of many age groups. Here are some of the best, in our opinion…
Magna-Tiles: you really can’t have too many as they all work together, and kids play imaginatively with these for HOURS!
Plus Plus: these building blocks foster tons of open-ended play, and their small size allows for easy storage. We keep ours in cute fabric zipper bags with a tray for building on to make it an easy toy to bring to other parts of the house and then clean up easily. Note that these blocks are little, so they’re a choking hazard for kiddos who might put them in their mouths.
Magnetic Board + Magnetic Numbers, Letters & Animals: We love to have a magnetic whiteboard in our kids spaces that allows for creativity
FAVORITE BOOKS
I especially love stocking author-illustrator Christian Robinson’s books in the properties I style. You Matter is a favorite, as is Last Stop on Market Street .
Richard Scarry and his BusyTown universe of books are always a hit with kiddos and nostalgic adults. Classics like Cars and Trucks and Things That Go or What Do People Do All Day are so much fun!
Brad Meltzer’s Ordinary People Change The World Series is amazing, and I especially love stocking the Jane Goodall edition.
Author-illustrator Sophie Blackall’s work is amazing, especially this Caldecott award winner, Hello Lighthouse.
For tweens, I love stocking Jason Reynold’s books. His Track Series is a great one to have on hand, and their bold colors look awesome on a shelf!
